Take a Workshop This Sunday
There still a few spots left in this Sunday’s workshop. In 3 hours I’ll show you the whole process of all-grain brewing on your stovetop, even through to bottling. Any beer you bottle, you can take home! And just because we’re getting started early, it doesn’t mean we won’t be doing a lot of beer tasting. Come thirsty… for knowledge!

Taste Two Beers On Tap at SF Cinematheque on Saturday
I will be at the SF Cinematheque Art Auction & Benefit party on Saturday night pouring two special brews. All proceeds benefit the SF Cinematheque. I will be bringing my Oakland Common Lager, one of my favorite brews made with my own home-roasted caramel malt and hops grown in my backyard. I will also be bringing a new brew that I finally perfected, a hoppy session beer made with wheat and rye. It’s light but bitter and unfiltered for full flavor. There will also be food, libations, music, and lots of art!
Over 50 international, national and regional artists have contributed artworks to this year’s stellar exhibition of drawings, paintings, photography, collage and multi-media installations. Grab a Beer at Shapeshifters Cinema on Sunday
The next Shapeshifters Cinema is taking place this Sunday night and I’ll be bringing a brand new experiment. I combined a ton of German Munich Malt with a blend of German and American hops and dropped it all onto some San Francisco Lager yeast. The result is a delicious malty, hoppy Oakland Bock beer. We’ll be sampling this brew while enjoying the wildly prolific animator and musical genius, Jeremy Rourke, Sunday’s featured artist.
